ERON
from 16th September to 5th November
In the ancient halls of the Ex Convento di San Francesco in Bagnacavallo, contemporary art returns to the forefront with the solo exhibition of the street artist ERON (Rimini, 1973), curated by Davide Caroli and Pietro Rivasi, which presents a selection of unpublished works created especially for this occasion.
Having affirmed himself as one of the most important street artists on the Italian scene, for several years now ERON has been flanking his ‘walls’ with a prolific and recognisable production of works on canvas, always of course created using spray cans. The theme of landscape has always been central to his works; his Landscapes of the 2000s have been followed by his Mindscapes, landscapes of the mind in which the boundaries between reality and dreams become increasingly undefined, thanks also to his technical skill in the use of colour, through which he is able to create scenes in which time and space also remain suspended and undefined.
His work challenges our perception by playing with and exploiting pareidolia, i.e. our brain’s ability to trace back to known forms spots and objects of random shapes, and in recent years this direction has led to the creation of works pervaded by great poetry.
His parallel work in the street, which has never stopped, has evolved over time in a figurative sense, addressing social issues and making him well known in the international scene as one of the most sensitive and current voices of denunciation.
