Festa di San Michele
The first documents in which the feast is mentioned date back to 1202. Nowadays the setting of the festival are the streets, the squares and the most beautiful spots of the historical town centre.
During these days, Bagnacavallo offers the chance to discover old noble palaces, hidden courtyard as well as churches with works of art. Many events enliven the town centre: street theatre events, concerts, sacred music and guided tours to discover the beauties of the town.
Several taverns open on this occasion in original places, such as courtyards, cloisters and mansion houses where it is possible to enjoy the typical cuisine of Romagna or original dishes of the feast: worth of mention are the cakes “dolce di San Michele” with honey and dried fruits, “Migliaccio” made with pork blood, “Savòr” with apples and quinces, “Sugal” a cake made with wine most, “Mistochine” and “Piadot” made with chestnut flour.
