Ettore Frani. Verso la gioia

In the ancient halls of the Ex Convento di San Francesco in Bagnacavallo, contemporary art returns to the forefront with the exhibition “Ettore Frani. Verso la gioia” curated by Paola Feraiorni and Massimo Pulini.
The exhibition, promoted by the Municipality of Bagnacavallo and organised by the Museo Civico delle Cappuccine on the occasion of the Feast of St. Michael, represents the final outcome of a reflection, as urgent as it is structured, matured over the last three years of Ettore Frani’s research. In addition to taking a closer look at some of the emblematic themes and subjects of his poetics, the artist presents a series of new works, many of which were created specifically for the evocative spaces of the former convent of San Francesco.
The exhibition includes eighty works on paper, over forty paintings and, for the first time, five pictorial installations. Works ranging from drawings, made with graphite on multiple and overlapping layers of paper, to oil painting on lacquered board and, among them, five installations with the evocative title Offer, where the artist also appropriates materials that are atypical within his artistic career, but of significant symbolic value: stones, dust, ashes, glass, notebooks, rags and brushes.

From 26th to 28th September, on the occasion of the Feast of San Michele, the exhibition will be open with extended opening hours from 10am to 12pm and from 3pm to 11pm. Sunday 29th September extended opening hours 10 a.m. – 11 p.m.
1st November open 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and 4 p.m.-7 p.m.
Opening: Saturday 14 September at 6 p.m.
