Exhibition “Risonanze empatiche. Grafonie del sentire”

The exhibition is part of the Biennale_OFF programme, a calendar of events that, as in the 2022 edition, anticipates and launches the 4th ‘Giuseppe Maestri’ Engraving Biennale scheduled for spring 2026.
Winner of the Prize for Young Engravers at the 3rd ‘Giuseppe Maestri’ Engraving Biennial #2022, Serena Gattini presents an exhibition that transforms gesture, sign and sound into poetic and political practices of listening, caring and transformation. An act of emotional and perceptive resistance that restores space to empathic feeling in a time almost devoid of depth.
Serena Gattini’s artistic research revolves around the broader concept of sound analysed and interpreted under different aspects linked to sensory perception. Graphic art, engraving in particular, is the basic element of this research, like a sound detector that calls to itself the ethereal forms that float undisturbed in the creative mind and transforms them into something delicately fascinating. The result that emerges is a peculiar analogy between the graphic gestures and morsures of the plate and the sound research manipulated and excavated until its essence is extrapolated onto tape.
