LA RIVOLUZIONE DEL SEGNO. La grafica delle avanguardie da Manet a Picasso
The art revolution between the 19th and 20th centuries irreversibly changed artistic languages, simultaneously a symptom and consequence of the search for a new sense of self and the construction of a new worldview. The new exhibition at Bagnacavallo‘s Museo Civico delle Cappuccine intends to retrace this journey of profound revision of the self and the representation of reality through the mutations of signs in the art of engraving.
Graphic works of many artists will be able to be appreciated, many of whom can be associated with the artistic movements that arose in that period: Goya, Doré, Manet, Renoir, Degas, Toulouse-Lautrec, Matisse, Wlaminck, Gauguin, Cezanne, Bonnard, Ensor, Grosz, Kirchner, Kokoschka, Kollwitz, Masereel, Nolde, Pechstein, Schiele, Redon, Alberto Martini, Kandinsky, Klee, Ernst, Man Ray, Magritte, Dali, Picabia, Arturo Martini, De Chirico, Morandi, Wildt, Boccioni, Marini, Manzù, Carrà, Campigli, Chagall, Rouault, Giacometti and Léger, with an important space reserved for the works of Picasso, the author who used the entire spectrum of artistic techniques, including intaglio, to express his thought.
Also on display are several publications through which the new works spread more rapidly: true artist’s books.
