The present building dates back to the beginning of the XVI century and it has been raised on the foundations of two former churches, which had been previously distroyed by floads.
The present structure of the church is single nave and the apse is polygonal. The bell tower is cylindrical, in the typical style of the area of Ravenna, but it’s probably rainsing over a former Roman structure; it has windows with one, two and three lights in the traditional Romanesque style, running from the bottom to the top, and it is thought to be one of the oldest belltowers in Italy (XI century).
