The “Antonio Morsiani” International foundation for researches on dogs, inside the historical Villa Morsiani, is provided of a museum and a library that can be considered unique in the world (there are over 3000 books, pictures, sculptures, anatomic reports, drawings, old engravings and canvas dealing with dogs). The Foundation is often seat of congresses, conferences, lectures, meetings and visits of professionals and dog- overs from all over the world.
The Foundation was created in 1996 by the Morsiani family to honour the memory of Dott. Antonio Morsiani (died in 1995) regarded as one of the world best scholars concerning the history and the scientific research on dog.
Situated by Villa Morsiani, in the imposing park surrounding it, the breeding centre was created in 1939 and takes the name from the near Sanctuary dedicated to Our Lady “of Rescue”, built on Morsiani’s territories.
It is considered the best breeding centre in the world and, in its 60 years old activity, it has produced over 350 dogs that became beauty world champions. Being so unique and so accurate in studies and selections, it is visited from dog lovers from all over the world, it is visited from dog lovers from all over the world.
