SACRARIO DEI CADUTI – CHIESA DEI BATTUTI BIANCHI

The church of Battuti Bianchi Confraternity dates back to the first half of XVIII century. It is dedicated to the war deads of Bagnacavallo.Sacrario dei caduti

The church has a simple facade with two semicircular niches at portal sides.
The interior is octagonl and the side chapels preserves some relavant paintings, such as a XVII century “Virgin with Child, Saints and members of the Confraternity” attributed to the monk Antonio Contessi. Worth of mention is also the painting depicting “Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception”. In the apse it is buried Francesco Berti, a patriot of Risorgimento who was part of the group of the brothers Bandiera in the unlucky deed which ended in Calabria as they died.

How to get
Close to the main square, in via Garibaldi. Car park along the road and just on the opposite side of the road, nearby Museo Civico Le Cappuccine (via Vittorio Veneto).
