LUGOCONTEMPORANEA 2026 – 22nd EDITION
SUMUD
Now in its twenty-second edition, Lugocontemporanea presents SUMUD (صمود) as the theme for 2026. An Arabic term that encompasses steadfastness, perseverance, and active resistance, sumud goes beyond the notion of resilience. It expresses the determination to remain, to inhabit, and to continue living in the face of oppression through everyday life, culture, and the care of human relationships. Starting from the Palestinian experience, the festival invites audiences to reflect on the many forms of civil and cultural resistance that shape our contemporary world.
