Pavaglione is a peculiar and imposing building which sorrounds an open air square. It was built in 1783 to be used as a silk worm market, which, at the time, was one of the biggest in Europe.
Since the end of the XVII century, this square was also used as a set for music shows and theatre pieces.
Beside the huge Wednesday open air market wheich is still held here since six centuries, here it’s also held a fair of trade and importants events (theatre, dance, music).
