Museum and archaeological sites

La Bottega dello Sguardo is a former artisan shop which houses a library – media library dedicated to performance subjects starting with the archive of Renata M. Molinari. The space will be the centre of other activities of the cultural association by the same name, which wants to create a network between those who love theatre and its stories, and promote in the region the ability to read and understand artistic and cultural processes through meetings, workshops, conferences, theatre readings, guided paths.

The museum is in the parsonage of the church of San Giovanni Battista and Sant’ Andrea Apostolo and it houses letters and personal objects of the famous musician Pietro Mascagni.

The archaeological site of the Castle of Zagonara is located in the municipal area of Lugo near the current cemetery of Zagonara. It was the object of an archaeological field survey in 2009, as part of the “Bassa Romandiola” project, which was started by the...

The two storey house is quite small and it has been preserved in an excellent way. The family of the famous composer Gioacchino Rossini lived here for a long time. Gioacchino’s father lived here till 1790, then he moved to Pesaro. As he came back, the house had been occupied by another family so they moved into another house in the same area.

The town Museum is named after Carlo Venturini and is located inside the same building “Centro culturale (Cultural centre)” which hosts the public library.

The parish museum houses is in the parsonage of the Church of San Giovanni Battista and Sant’ Andrea Apostolo and it houses books and paintings from the XV to the XX century. Historical archive with documents dating from 1252.

This is a museum dedicated to aviation and war history; the exhibits include objects found by the members of the R.a.F (Romagna Air Finders), amongst which the remains of a Thunderball P47, an airplane of the Brazilian army which was found on the hills of the area of Bologna, and a Mersserschimtt BF109G, a german airplane founded in the countryside around San Bernardino od Lugo with the rests of its pilot Hans Fischer.

The “Istituto Storico della Resistenza” of Ravenna (the historical institute of resistance) was created in 1961 by Arrigo Boldrini and Benigno Zaccagnini; both had participated in the fight for liberation. Todat the institute is based in the town of Alfonsine.

The “Museum of vintage cars and motorcycles Mauricette e Primo Contoli” features a collection of early 20th century cars and motorcycles, including vehicles made by Citroën, FIAT, FN, Gilera, Hemderson, La Licorne, Mosquito and Triumph.
