ORATORIO O CHIESA DI SANT’ANNA
The church of St. Anna on Chiavica di Legno is located in the hamlet of Filo, half-way between the Town of Alfonsine and Argenta.
CHIESA DELL’OPPIO
The church dell’Oppio, situated in the countryside and is one of the most ancient worship places of Massa Lombarda.
CHIESA COLLEGIATA DI S. STEFANO PROTOMARTIRE
The church was built in 1376 and hosts an altar piece of the Veronese painter Felice Torelli (1666-1748), a painting of the bolognese school of the Carracci and a precious tombstone carried out in the XVI century by Pietro Barilotto from Faenza.
CHIESA DI S. PATRIZIO
This is the earliest parish of the area; it was founded in the IX century by a group of Irish pilgrims that settled here and worshipped St Patrick. From a simple niche for worshippers, it developed into a parish that was modified over the centuries; the current architecture, with a longer nave, a new façade and a bell tower, dates back to the end of the XVIII century. The precious XIX century bell tower mechanism has been recently replaced.
THE FORMER ORATORY OF SANT’ONOFRIO
The oratory dates back to 1679; the inside is in pure baroque style both for the structure and for the decorations.
ORATORIO DELLA SANTISSIMA ANNUNZIATA
The oratory of "Santissima Annunziata" (Sepulcrum Gentis Piancastelli) is located by the municipal cemetry, on the border of the typical local contryside.
ORATORIO DEL SANTISSIMO CROCIFISSO
This oratory, built in 1677 thanks to the legacy of Auditor Carlo Spadazzi and transformed into a church about ten years later, is the most ancient religious building in Fusignano. Survived to the World War II, it has been restored and presents an interesting shrine in the facade.
CHIESA PARROCCHIALE DI S. GIACOMO
The first church dedicated to S. Giacomo was built during High Middle Age within the walls of the old casle. In 1390 it was rebuild in the present position, since the castle had become a fortress.
CHIESA DI S. FRANCESCO DI PAOLA
The present building, in neogothic style, dates back to 1890 and stands on a previous XIV century ‘s structure dedicated to the "Annunziata", of which several traces and decorations remain.
CHIESA DI ASCENSIONE
The church in the Ascensione area of Lugo dates back to 1534. Originally, on the land called “La Pioppa”, there was a reed and masonry building inhabited by hermits, a stopping point for pilgrims. Next to it there was an oratory dedicated to Sant’Antonio Abate, which was destroyed by fire. With the first restorations, dating back to the second half of the 20th century, burials and fragments of ceramics dating back to the 15th century were discovered.
